What to do with my hair?

I need hair help. I can't decide what type of hair I have -- I can't tell if it's fine, medium or thick (I doubt thick). Does it look fine, medium, or what? And if it's fine, are just the strands fine, or is it fine and sparse as well?

Also I need tips. Does fine hair need trims more often to stay healthy or anything? Do thickening shampoos work? What are general ideas to make it thicker? I'm a guy and I really want my hair to my shoulders, all one length but I don't want some thin looking ponytail someday. Is all one length a good idea? Any and all advice appreciated!!

What to do with my hair?

I can't tell in the picture but this might help you out :)

F - Fine

Thin strands that sometimes are almost translucent when held up to the light. Shed strands can be hard to see even against a contrasting background. Similar to hair found on many people of Scandinavian descent.

You can also try rolling a strand between your thumb and index finger. Fine hair is difficult to feel or itfeels like an ultra-fine strand of silk

M - Medium

Strands are neither fine nor coarse. Similar to hair found on many Caucasians.

You can also try rolling a strand between your thumb and index finger. Medium hair feels like a cotton thread. You can feel it, but it isn't stiff or rough. It is neither fine or coarse.

C - Coarse

Thick strands that where shed strands usually are easily identified against most backgrounds. Similar to hair found on many people of Asian or native American descent.

You can also try rolling a strand between your thumb and index finger. Coarse hair feels hard and wiry. As you roll it back and forth, you may actually hear it.

Lemon in ur hair?

Actually, putting lemon juice in your hair and getting sunlight on it will lighten your hair. My friend does it alot and it makes her hair blonder.

Not-so-good straight hair...?? Dry and no good??

I am a mixed black/Indian 15-year-old girl. I relax my hair, but it doesn't come out the way I want it to look. It's flat, boring--blah. And after a couple of weeks, after I wash it, it becomes frizzy and dry no matter how many times I spray oil sheen on it.

How can I get my hair from being frizzy and dry to straight and healthy-looking (without it being so flat?) Like this, http://photobucket.com/mediadetail/?medi...

HelP!

Not-so-good straight hair...?? Dry and no good??

about frizzy hair - deep condition your hair. you can get hair mask / pack whatever the name is, you can get it in beauty supply. or you can get it done it the salon.

about the style - unfortunately, you need to style it with roller or iron. you need to work on it. she doesn't wake up like that, either!

Bleached hair blonde dye?

ok so a couple of days ago i bleached my hair from a light -medium brown to a light yellowish orangy color its not to bad but i would like to make it more of a white tone .so i`m tinking of gitting a perminit blonde dye in like a extream beige blone there called ulta lift blondes by garnier i also used the bleach by them, i would love to go an ash color but i`m scared my hair will turn green...so is this a good idea i know about the damage but i dont dye my hair often so it is still pritty healthy even after bleaching it`s still soft.

Bleached hair blonde dye?

if your hair is orange like you said you need to use a green base toner... such as something like an ash blonde... its not going to make you blonder its pretty much going to make you the color on the box.... if you want to go blonder you need to bleach your roots with a higer level of proxide, use a powder bleach. then you need to get a toner with a blue or violet base... if i were you i would go to sally's or something.... before you are melting your hair...

Bleached hair blonde dye?

I would definately go to a salon and have your hair done! Where I live it costs around $50 for full color and $60 for foil highlights. The money that you spend there would be worth it in the end. Because if you mess up with permanent dyes, you could end up spending a fortune trying to fix it anyways!

Bleached hair blonde dye?

since your hair is orangy now, i dont think it will turn out green. ash colors and reddish or orangey colors ususally cancel each other out.

when i was in high school i ended up with greenish hair and i used strawberry blond to fix it. your the opposite but i think they still counteract each other either way...i hope im making sense lol...

Bleached hair blonde dye?

Bleaching your hair in any way fries it, and there's no way around it. I would say, instead of chancing it with something that says it bleaches, just use bleach, either way, your hair will be in bad shape. Don't go ashy, though. It looks bad on almost everyone. And you could always just use a toner to take out the orange tones, I think it would be a violet one. Careful not to leave it in too long, or your hair will turn a pale purple (it's happened to me...). Hope this helps. And if you need any more help, feel free to drop me a line.

Bleached hair blonde dye?

Shop bought dyes only lighten your hair a couple of shades. To save you ruining your hair or turning it a colour you do not want i would recommend you go to a salon. If you are sure you want to do this yourself, definately do a strand test first.

Bleached hair blonde dye?

Bleached hair blonde dye?

Your ruining the environment. Those leftover boxes, chemicals left in the bottles leak out in landfills. Animals get into it eat it get sick and die. Don't forget about your water drinking supply, the water you shower in.

Feel any better?

Shave it off, start over.

To bad you cannot accept yourself as who your true DNA is supposed to be.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

I am not losing my hair and I definitely have plenty of it, but everytime I brush or just run my fingers through my hair several strands come out. I wouldn't mind so much, except I have long hair so my chair at work has my hair on it, the floor of my car is covered in it. I just hate feeling like I leave strands of my hair everywhere I go. I take daily vitamins and am generally healthy. Any insight would be appreciated.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

stress can cause this.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

have you had a baby recently? mine starting falling out after I had my son, its growing back but I have lots a frizzy bits on top it drives me crazy.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

Radioactive poisoning can contribute to hairloss.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

Sounds like your hair may be weak and may have a lot of breakage going on. Put some treatments on it to strengthen it and reduce styling with heated utensils if possible.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

You might need to take Iron, but I would go to your doctor and get blood work done to be sure.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

Actually, it's quite normal. I've read somewhere that you lose 1000 pieces of hair a day. That number sounds huge but when you think about how many you lose in relation to how much is actually on your head, it's a small number.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

stress. people lose 100 strands a day so don't worry about it too much. Use an antibreakage shampoo and conditioner (Tresemme makes one) if you want to prevent breakage more. I have long hair too and I straighten it and use a heat tamer. Its just loose strands of hair that fall out everyone has it but people that have long hair notice it more since their hairs long.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

bad diet... not getting enough of something, wtv is supposed to be good for your hair. i think vitamin k?

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment of the thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

It is completely normal to lose 75 to 150 strands of hair EACH DAY. This is very normal, and the longer your hair is, the more noticeable it tends to be, probably because the ones that naturally fall out get caught up in the rest of your hair, which of course makes it seem like there are chunks of it coming out when you run your hands through it.

There is no need to worry, or no remedy.

The only time you need to worry, is if there are indeed bald patches on your scalp, which may be a form of alopecia, typically caused from stress, and you should see your doctor

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

You should listen to Br8dqueen, cuz she's my girlfriend :) and she knows her craft ;)

What could cause hair to come out constantly?

There are several reasons this could be happening.

Are you eating enough protien?

Have you recently started a new medication?

Do you have other symptoms such as gaining abdominal weight and cold intollerance?

Have you been wearing your hair in an up-do more often recently or had a perm or color treatment?

Dietary changes can cause hair loss.

Medications, especially birth control pills or others containing hormones can cause hair loss.

Hair loss, cold intollerance and weight gain are symptoms of a thyroid condition. If you have these symptoms call your dr. Thyroid problems can lead to bigger things.

Having your hair done or wearing it up in a pony tail can loosen hair folicles and cause a little more hairloss than you may be used to.

Also, if you notice you are losing clumps of hair in other places,

eyelashes, eyebrows, pubic area. etc.... go see a dr. Propecia(sp?) is a disease that causes hair loss.

I hope that helps :-)

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

IF YOU GET IT TRIMMED EVER 6 WEEKS THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM IT GROWS FASTER THE MORE YOU TRIM OFF YOUR DEAD ENDS... WEAR IT DOWN MORE CAUSE WEARING IT UP TOO LONG MAKES IT BREAK OFF AND BECOME WEAK!

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

real good conditoner ,and not the cheap kind either also try not to use starighters as much.

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

healthier looking hair starts with the shampoo and conditioner that you use. use something that is specifically for your hair texture, but get the kind that also says strengthening, restores moisture, and replenishing. then concentrate on getting in a routine of deep treatments (conditioners), trims, and at least visit a professional salon once a month. just like going to the doctor, the stylist is a hair doctor. protect your hair during all weather climates and you can also use a growth oil--applying all throughout scalp at least once a week. Good Luck!!

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

Natural Homemade Tips for Hair %26amp; Skin

http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-42eT_e8_b...

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

depending on your hair type you can grow long and healthy beautifull hair by following a suitable regimen bearing in mind 2 things

1-protect and the existing hair

if its curly "natural" as your avator shows "like mine" you shuold always keep it moisturized " oils hot oil tratment befor washing ,leav in conditioners ,creams waht ever you like "

and protein conditioners to restore elasticity which is critical for curly hair strenght

always use a wide brush when brushing just treat your hair like a gold threads starting from tips to the scalp and when it tangels loose the brush and untangel it with fingers.

whashin hair should be about 3 / month with shampoo

but when ever you feel like washing it use the conditioner only so it doesnt dry out

always wear a protective hair style so the ends dont rub against clothes

wear a head " satin or silk "scarf when going to sleep to prevent rubbing against the pillow or use a satin or silk pillowcase "satin %26amp; silk are soft so it dont break the hiar and dont absorb its moisture away"

-2-and grow a healthy new hair from the scalp

to grow healthy hair form within

-highly protein diet and free amino acids in L- form

as hair is basically protein in nature amino suplements will do

-vitamins and mineral supplements for hair and nails

-Flax seed oil or Cod liver oil capsule which is rich in omega 3

MSM and silica

garlic oil "dont worry its odorless"

make sure that a good blood circulation is nourishing your scalp

by massage ...minimum of 2 minutes morning and 2 evening

i do that when i watch TV

with both hand press your finger tips "not nails" on the scalp and move them in round motion make sure you're not rubbing your fingertips against the scalp but moving it with them for about 2 minutes twice a day , it gives a good feeling of relaxation and increases blood supply to the scalp which has good effect on hair growth.

What can I use to grow my hair and make it look healthier?

Vitamins B, C, F, zinc, iron, copper and protein are essential for hair growth. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair.Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

How can I make my hair smooth and health looking?

I have long hair. It has been colors and perms. When my hair is down it looks frizzy and dull, and the top looks really flat and the bottom is really thick. I really need tip on how to make my hair look smooth and healthy and make it were my hair just does not lye there.

How can I make my hair smooth and health looking?

You have over worked your hair by processing it too much w/ chemicals found in perms and colour. I can relate. I over proccessed my hair with colour after colour.

I would let it grow out and only keep trimming it. Trim it every other month 1-2 inches to get rid of those frayed ends. You probably have a lot of breakage too right? Brush your hair starting from the bottom to the top. Especially after your shower since you towel-dry it becomes tangled. Use a leave in conditioner spray/creme/lotion for dry/frizzy hair. I use Garnier Fructise leave-in creme lotion for dry/frizzy hair. Also use a wide tooth comb/brush to comb through your hair. Then if you will be blow drying it or flat ironing it then you need a heat protective spray or lotion. I use Tresemme heat tamer spray. I love it! Then use a serum for shine. All these tips should help just ask any hairdresser.

How can I make my hair smooth and health looking?

The above answer is great. Also...you shouldn't wash it daily..but you can condition daily. Washing your hair daily takes the natural oils that your hair needs to be healthy. Ultimately..making your hair dull. Your hair will be more smooth. You may still need to run an iron over it, depending on your hair type. ;)

How can I make my hair smooth and health looking?

I used to have very dry hair. My ends use to frizz badly, especially after washing my hair. For years I have been searching for a great, all-natural, quality shampoo and conditioner that would smooth my ends and leave my hair soft, light, and full. I learned pretty quickly that traditional shampoos, although they may "appear" to make your hair shiny and smooth, in the long run leave your hair more dry and damaged.

I can tell that I have tried everything from tried Giovanni to Ojon to Carol's Daughter to RedKen. I even did conditioner washes. But my hair wouldn't stay smooth and soft; it wouldn't grow pass my ears and my curls would not become defined.

One day, my stylist washed my hair with Beauty 4 Ashes GodHead Silky Smooth All-Natural Shampoo. I immediately noticed a difference in my hair texture. My hair was softer, easier to comb, and more manageable. My curls were defined and, for lack of a better word, more separated. My hair also was light and full, almost as if I had used an anti build up rinse. I couldn't believe it. My hair actually laid down, but still had body; I decided to try the shampoo and conditioner myself. I use them religiously. In one month, my hair grew 1 1/2 inches and because my hair is splits easily, having softer hair that grows was unheard for me. You can order it from www.discoverb4a.com.

I have naturally curly hair. Is there any foolproof way to temporarily straighten it?

I have extremely huge, wild, curly hair. Maybe types of 3 and 4 combined. How can I straighten it? Blow driers are a major no, because they make me look like I just got struck by lightning. Flat irons have to be so hot to get my hair straight that they tend to damage my hair, if overused, but if I do manage to do my whole head, it looks nice for about 10 minutes, then it all starts to feel stiff and stick out and the roots revert back and...then it sticks out all over the place like I just sprayed in a couple cans of aqua net. 80s rockers would have been proud... but if it's not Halloween, then, I need a smooth, tamer look. I don't want to use a chemical straightener. I used to have one, and my hair spent more time in broken pieces on my shoulders or floor than it did on my head. Yeah, my hair got long sometimes, but it was never healthy. I really want to wear my hair straight sometimes. Magazines claim you can temporarily straighten curly hair, but I can't figure out how. Any ideas?

I have naturally curly hair. Is there any foolproof way to temporarily straighten it?

u can perm relax or blow dry or iron u shud make sure to have a hairdresser to relax or straight perm ur hair Ironing ur hair just burns and makes curly hair dryer But blow dry takes FOREVER but worth it and after blowdry iron hair thats still not straight

I have naturally curly hair. Is there any foolproof way to temporarily straighten it?

condition your hair then use a hair creme or leavin conditioner like wella for straight hair and blowdry and use a hair iron and finish look with wax

I have naturally curly hair. Is there any foolproof way to temporarily straighten it?

why don't you rebond or relax your hair? Or you could put mousse after you wet your hair. If there really no way, why don't you just style your hair so it won't look big and wild. You could do halfpony or put it on a bun.

I need some help with damaged hair?

Unhealthy dry hair and scalp: Symptoms of unhealthy hair are: dullness, dryness, hair breakage, brittleness, slowed or altered hair growth. Unhealthy hair feels dry, brittle and straw-like at the ends. It is dull, and may be flyaway with many split ends. It may also look bushy and frizzy. There are many reasons why ones hair can become unhealthy. The most common reason is poor nutrition. A diet high in sugar, salt, and animal fat are all bad for the hair because they create additional stress on the body, resulting in a greater need for nutrients, especially the B vitamins. Without essential oils from vitamins A, D, E, and fatty acids, the hair can become dry, dull, with split ends. Woman, especially are affected with unhealthy hair. Oral contraceptives and pregnancy can rob our hair of its nutrients along with the wind and sun. Blow drying, hair sprays, mousse, hot curling iron, coloring, and hair perms can also affect our hair

Fix

If you have a dry scalp, warm up some castor oil by putting a small amount into a pot and heating it on a very low setting until it is warm to the touch. Then massage it into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot, steamy towel for 15 minutes and then wash. (To get this effect, you can run towels through the washing machine using hot water but no detergent. You can also rub in four or five teaspoons of mayonnaise into your scalp and leave it on for half an hour before shampooing.

Wash hair every other day or less if you can using a mild shampoo. Shampoos strip hair of it's natural oils making it dryer. People on low-fat diets might not be getting enough oils in their bodies鈥攁nd if that鈥檚 so, then their scalps and hair might be deprived. Supplement a low-fat diet with olive oil. Taking a teaspoon of olive oil per day you should see a difference in the dryness of your skin and hair in a week or two. You can add the oil to a salad dressing, or drizzle it over bread.

Fish oil or flaxseed oil is even better because it benefits many other conditions as well. 1000 mg of either oil is a standard amount recommended, however this can be increased. Do beware that fish oil thins the blood. Taking a multi-vitamin and adding foods rich in vitamins A, B, D, and E is also recommended.

Thinning hair and hair loss: Hair loss is becoming increasingly common today, even among women. Every year, millions of dollars are spend on chemical creams and shampoos that promise to grow hair. People also undergo a variety of unnatural procedures, including hair transplants, in order to restore lost hair. However, as we will see, diet and lifestyle plays a primary role in the development of baldness. Baldness is a preventable condition, regardless of the prevalence of it in one's family. A primary reason why baldness tends to occur within families is because of similar dietary and lifestyle patterns that members of families share. One of the causes of hair thinning, falling out, and balding is unhealthy hair follicles. The hair embedded in a "pocket" in the skin called the hair follicle. The follicle is in constant need of nutrients, oxygen, and moisture to stay healthy and to stimulate new hair growth. Vitamin C, PABA, Biotin and amino acids L-cysteine and glutathion. These nutrients can assist in the prevention of peroxidation of oil formation on the scalp, which left unchecked, can clog hair follicles and cause hair loss.

Fix - Bhringaraj oil or brahmi oil can be applied to the scalp regularly to stimulate hair growth. The Ayurvedic herbs ashwagandha and amla are also reported to stimulate hair growth.

Folic acid, biotin, vitamin B5, para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), and silica are supplements that may help maintain the color and thickness of hair. Be sure to supplement your daily intake of zinc. Intake of 30 mg or higher for more than three months can induce a deficiency of copper, and low copper levels can result in hair loss.

Eat a protein rich diet including green leafy vegetables, carrots, soybean, mango, dried apricots, whole grain cereals, sprouts, lentils, yeast, wheat germ, milk, yogurt (curd), and buttermilk in the daily diet.

Wearing a scarf for prolonged periods of time can also lead to hair loss through loss of oxygen to the scalp. Don't wear an underscarf, and use materials that are natural such as cotton.

Massage the scalp for 10 to 15 minutes after bathing it with water. This stimulates the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp. Massaging coconut oil into the scalp can also be helpful or you can make a paste out of fresh coconut by blending it. Almond oil massaged into the scalp can stop further hair loss and eating apples, drinking apple juice or rubbing it into the scalp helps strengthen hair at the follicles and treat the problem of hair loss. Rosemary oil, vitamin E and a paste made of carrots also help with circulation when rubbed into the scalp.

Weak - lifeless hair: A deficiency of protein in the hair can result in a temporary change of hair color and texture, resulting in brittle, thin, lusterless, kinky, easily tangled, weak and hair breakage below the surface of the skin. Hair is made of protein and proteins are used as the building blocks of strong hair. Protein deficiency can result from poor diet, aging, illness, drugs, hair coloring, bleaching, and hair perms. When the collagen protein deficiency is corrected, the hair will return to its normal strong, shiny, full-of-body and bouncy condition.

Fix - The same methods to stop and treat hair loss should be used for weak and lifeless hair. Add fish oil or flaxseed oil to your diet. Medications effect our hair. In fact DNA samples from hair can show the medications we take. If a medication in nessesary for us to take, there isn't realy anything we can do about the effect they have on our hair except to do deap conditioning and use some of the fixes in this article.

Tips

Straightening hair naturaly

Get a fresh coconut and blend it well, till about a glassful of milk can be extracted from the pulp. Add the juice of one lime to this milk, stir well into the glass and refrigerate till it acquires a creamy layer on the top. This cream can be rubbed onto the scalp, and left on, covered with a hot towel, for about an hour. Then rinse it off with a mild shampoo and warm water. Repeat this three times a week and you will notice that your unruly locks are gradually straightening up.

Oily hair

Pour some cornstarch or rock salt out onto a dish and dip the brush into it. Then, with a comb, part your hair in the center and brush the cornstarch or salt onto your scalp and roots. Make another part 1/4 to 陆 inch off-center and repeat. Continue this method down one side of your head, then from the center and down the other side.

Leave in for10 minutes while the cornstarch or salt soaks up the excess oils in your hair. Then, take a brush and brush out your hair, ridding it of the cornstarch flakes or salt.

Build up

Get rid of the build up by mixing 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 gallon of water. Use it to rince hair after shampooing. This is also good for oily hair.

or you could also buy a brand called john frieda that makes shampoo called brilliant brunnette, sheer blonde, radiant red....... pick the one that matches ur hair and use it!! i heard it does work

I need some help with damaged hair?

Take the vitamins daily, rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar or a clarifying shampoo when you wash it, use a few drops of jojoba oil sparingly on your hair while its wet after washing, and try not to use any heat styling products for a while. Possibly look into buying a better shampoo/conditioner.. it sounds like you may have some dulling buildup on your hair too.

I need some help with damaged hair?

You probably are not using a good shampoo so just change your shampoo and conditioner also do not use any hairspray or other chemicals on your hair just use different shampoo and conditioner and no other stuff.

I need some help with damaged hair?

when i started straightening my hair, i noticed it was get dull. that's when i started using Biolage shampoo and conditioner. since then, my hair is shinier and healthier than ever !! i owe my hair's recovery to Biolage. I'm almost positive that Biolage will give you your hair back, and maybe even better than before. the best part is that i still straighten my hair !! also, try to avoid hairspray, dying your hair, etc. basically avoid too much chemicals. hope i helped =]

I need some help with damaged hair?

Hair skin and nail vitamins, I've found, are actually more valuable to the nails to anything else, but, I suggest using Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner for color treated hair (even if you don't have color treated hair, it doesn't matter. Wash your hair with that shampoo, then, put the conditioner on and leave it on for 2 or 3 minutes, rinse it out. I swear, this is the best conditioner in the world, it should help give your hair some more moisture. I would also suggest using a frizz/dry hair intenseive treatment, (available at drugstores).

I need some help with damaged hair?

prenatal vitamins i noticed helped my hair alot and aussie has this spray leave in conditioner, i spray that in my hair after every wash, make sure when your washing your hair to leave conditioner in for ATLEAST 30 seconds. or iv never tried this but every other day just shampoo the top of your head and condition the bottom

Im getting my hair done on sat. @ 11 am advise?

Oh good ness if I were you I would call the salon and ask them what they would reccommend or if they know of anything, since they are the experts.

He might have been talking about conditioning treatments, which are good for your hair and that is the only thing I can think of.

About those at home hair dye kits...?

I have only used them one time and turned my hair orange (I know you professional stylist are laughng right now) and had to pay a pretty penny to get it fixed. Since I have had every color under the sun, even looked like a zebra once, I finally came to the conclusion that no color is going to match my skin tone better than the one God gave me. Paid to have it dyed back to natural color and even that wasn't right. I am not going to some cheap salon I go to a very popular salon and pay 200. plus each time. Well long story short, I was broke, tired and frustrated! I let my natural color GROW out. After about a yr it looked like I had a dif. color salad bowl on my head. The colors were close, just not exact. Anyway that was years ago and my hair is past my shoulders now, healthy and NO dye whatsoever...BUT, after I wash it at night and then go to sleep I wake up to a grease head. I have tried everything, would dying it same color help to dry it out some? I know, sounds crazy!

About those at home hair dye kits...?

You sound like you are perspiring during your sleep. Have you ever worked out and then not been able to take a shower right away? It has the same feel. Your hormones are very likely to blame since hormones can make you perspire more than usual. I realize you're using great shampoos, but you might want to try oil controlling shampoos or clarifying shampoos occasionally.

I used to have the same problem when I was a teen. I had to wash my hair every morning or I felt slimy.

About those at home hair dye kits...?

You're welcome. Thanks for the vote! Report It

About those at home hair dye kits...?

Try looking for shampoo and conditioner for oily hair. My hair gets like this during this time of year especially! I do dye it and it still gets like that :(

About those at home hair dye kits...?

That is why I use semi permananet hair colors. My natural hair color is dark blonde. When I dye may hair brown shades, it usually turns red.I Iike chestnut, nutmeg and pecan colors, but they are not dark enough to not turn my hair red. I end up dying it dark brown. Look at the square on the box, they have red and brown shades. Sometimes, it depends on what your hair color is to begin with. You can try washing it with a dandruff shampoo (Head %26amp; Shoulders) about 10 times. If that doesn't work, dye it a different color, only a few shades darker to cover the orange. There is usually a toll free phone number you can call for help and advice. Good luck!

Hair protein products, conditioners? hot oils? whats good?? (plz read details b4 responding)?

I want to start putting protein in m hair to help it grow what other ways products do u recomend will let it grow? I get my hair done and when its time for me to get it done like a week before i want to put stuff in it so it will stay healthy while im waiting for my next hair appointment. My hair is shoulder length i want a few more lenght ^_^ thnx

Hair protein products, conditioners? hot oils? whats good?? (plz read details b4 responding)?

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin

Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.

As to the cost of Nourishair, it is about 10 dollars for a one month supply.

Hair protein products, conditioners? hot oils? whats good?? (plz read details b4 responding)?

protein does not help your hair grow...it keeps it from breaking...but too much protein will make the hair brittle.....hot oil is crap.....get a good Redken protein treatment like Antisnap and get a good conditioner....vitamins will help your hair grow a little faster

Hair protein products, conditioners? hot oils? whats good?? (plz read details b4 responding)?

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

Please, what can I do ? I apply olive oil sometimes a week, but it dosen't seem to work.

I want to grow my hair but want also for it to be extremely healthy. What can I do ?.

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

You will always have split ends, your hair is dead cells. You notice them more because they are your split ends, nobody else will notice...

Don't keep cutting your hair!!!

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

check your shampoo. does it have conditioning oils in it? or is it simply a cleanser?. if you straighten your hair daily, get an "after" moisturizer. the same for blow drying, and extremely hot showers. drink lots of fluids, you might not be getting enough water.

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

when you go down the shampoo aisle look for shampoos that treat split ends but also give you a shiny and beautiful and healthy look to your hair

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

olive oil can have the tendency to apply moist and smoothly at first, then dry out, (I think also strip your hair of natural moisture too). I suggest after you trim to do hot oil treatments. Vo5 has a good one, and possibly deep conditioning once every two weeks might help. Vo5 also has an oil that is really great for your ends, (but use sparingly)!! hope this helps. If you are trying to grow your hair I advise doing a high ponytail for a while, but be careful not to stress the hairline and stay away from bad heat (curling irons etc.)

I just cut the ends of my hair and one week later I already have split ends?!?

If you blow dry or color or straighten your hair you're damaging it.

It's inevitable.

Even simply brushing your hair is damage.

So just keep taking care of it and you'll be able to grow it out as long as you want.

Also are YOU cutting your hair?

If you are then it could be that less-than-hair-quaility scissors spilitting your ends...

What should I do to make sure that my hair stays healthy w/ hair color?

My hair has brown and dk red highlights(2wks old). This is my first time ever having any bleach/dye/etc in my hair so I'm a little afraid that my hair may break off bc of the dye. I know that I need to keep my hair moisturized but what else should I do to keep it healthy? The stylist who put the highlights in said to cont to go to him for my washes and blow out(that's blow drying my hair straight) but it's becoming to expensive. I want to see him once a month but do the hair care at home. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, Nina J

What should I do to make sure that my hair stays healthy w/ hair color?

I personally live on Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo, cream conditioner, %26amp; deep conditioner 3 min. masque... It really hydrates your hair and leaves it silky smooth. They have other shampoos and conditioner that are also really good.

Another thing that i will do if i need that extra boost of moisture is you take 2-3 really good cream conditioners, an avocado and some honey. (how much of each depends on how long your hair is) first beat/cream the avocado and honey in a blender then mix it with the conditioners. apply it to your hair and leave in for about 30 minutes then wash off. It works wonders...

What should I do to make sure that my hair stays healthy w/ hair color?

keep coloring it.

What should I do to make sure that my hair stays healthy w/ hair color?

Use hair conditioner regularly. Use a hot oil treatment every week or so.

The red tends to fade faster than other colors,so be prepared for that.

What should I do to make sure that my hair stays healthy w/ hair color?

hey whats up. i suggest u give ur self a hotoil treatment b4 u shampoo hair. massage warm cocunut oil in ur hair for 5 min.leave this on ur hair for 1 hr then shampoo using a herbal mousiturizing shampoo. u should also use neutral henna it makes ur hair shiny thick and longer.

Good looking hair?

hi everyone,it's me again.thank you so much for your responses.

can someone out there advice me on what i should use to keep my hair looking good.i want my hair to be long, healthy and glowing,as the saying goes,"the glory of a woman lies in her hair".please help me,advice me on what i can use.

Good looking hair?

First, the glory of you lies in you!

Now, you can use mayonnaise, (real mayonnaise), a mashed avocado or a mashed banana (very ripe!) Leave the Mayonnaise in for a half an hour and the avocado or banana in for 15 minutes. (You may want to wash it out in the kitchen sink as to not clog your shower drain). There is also a wonderful new product called H2 Ion which is a hair damage treatment and leaves my hair looking beautiful. http://www.h2-ion.com

Good looking hair?

This is to healthygyrl---Have u used H2-ion? If so how was it? Report It

Good looking hair?

erm use tony and guy they do wonders for your hair

Good looking hair?

HI

I used to hair ugly dry hair it wasn't even shiny...I used to color it myself too.. I know go to a salon and do it every 8 weeks and yes is expensive BUT it is sooo good plus I have been using Graham Webb Sil Theraphy Shampoo and Conditioner and is like the best thing out there...my hair is super shiny and super soft I luv iT!!! as far as styling products I have wavy hair so I do the Redken Ringlet 07 and that's pretty much it..when I straighten it i don't use anything in my hair and it is SUPER SHINY and super healthy looking =)

Good looking hair?

You are what you eat. Eat healthy to have healthy hair. You can do a deep condition once a week with mayonnaise (cheap, natural, works). Comb through your hair, wrap your hair in plastic wrap and leave on 30min to 1hr and then rinse clean, then shampoo as usual in the morning. To cleanse your hair from the buildup of products like mousse and sprays, rinse with lemon juice diluted with water. Use a natural bristle brush because it won't create as much breakage as synthetic brushes. Always use a wide-tooth comb when your hair is wet and comb from the bottom up to remove tangles - don't FORCE tangles out by yanking. Limit what you do to your hair to stress it (like blow drying, hot curlers, coloring it or pulling it back with rubber bands) and have splits trimmed as soon as they appear.

Should have a gorgeous head of hair in a few weeks to a few months depending on what condition your hair was in when you started.

Good looking hair?

you look very sexy and hot and I mean that. That is my real answer

Hair cut and styling?

okay.

i dyed my hair black sometime last year. i still have the black in my hair and it's not coming out. the hair salon can do something about it, i don't remember but thats not exactly my question.

so what i am looking to do is get my hair back to a semi-natural brown color.

then i am going to get a hair cut. side swept bangs and i want to keep it sort of long. just cut off the ends to keep it healthy.

and i wanted to get my hair permanently straightened,

i know it's bad for my hair and stuff but my hair is so thickk and curly it's crazy. the only way i can wear my hair down is if i straighten it. which takes forever to blowdry/air dry/ and straighten.

has anyone had it done? does anyone have a picture of what it might look like? i found one in a magazine that looked cute i'll try and find it online and add the link.

It looks soooooooo nice when it's all done!

Just follow the washing instructions from your hairstylist - because you have to wait like a few weeks to wash it or something, or it will get damaged!

x

good luck

Hair cut and styling?

Don't chemically straighten.

Get salon products and a good fully ceramic salon straightener.

If you get one that's 100% ceramic (not coated, plated) and some Bumble %26amp; Bumble hair straightening product it will be much safer than chemicals.

Do it in sections with top layers clipped up while you do the under layers and that takes care of the thickness problem!

Hair cut and styling?

thats impossible to answer. I do not like reading!

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

I have just straightened my hair. It is now less curly but a little frizzier. I am looking for suggestions on hair care products that are the best for my hair to get it back to being healthy and shiny like it was prior to straightening. Looking for products like leave in's, conditioners that sort of thing. I have used products in the past, but those seem to dry the hair out.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL:)

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

I have 2 products to recommend to you highly!

The first is Infusium 23's leave in conditioner. My friend with naturally curly hair uses this religiously. It keeps your hair moist and smelling really good. It's a liquid rather than a cream, so it can be messy so I would recommend putting it in a spray bottle for more control. Just be careful using it when wearing light colored clothes because sometimes it does stain the clothes.

The other product to use is John Frieda's Frizz-Ease Serum in original formula. It is the ONLY product I've used that gives my hair a smooth and soft look without weighing down my hair. And you only use a tiny bit.

Both products are very affordable and can be bought anywhere like Target and Walgreens. Good luck!

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

After straightening your hair you should finger comb a dime size of serum through it, smoothing it out.. especially at the ends. This is a main contender when straightening your hair to get frizz out.

The number one product that people go crazy for is Biosilk's serum. Joico is also good, and Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny serum is made especially for making your hair as straight as possible.

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

Yess there is this thing that is called glaire shineing gel and its awsome i use it all the time cause my haire gets frizzy and you you can tell the difrence try it out.

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

we u finish washin ur hair, use tressame heat defenceand and blow dry ur hair . it should make it silky and straigt. k

Frizzy Hair Therapy?

i think i have to frizzyest hair ever.. and i dont go and spend 203842742-948$ on products.. i use herbal essence style straight shampoo and conditioner. .and i have the matchin style straight hot iron spray that i use wen i straighten it so it doesent fry my hair even more then it already is.. and then i to keep my style i use style straight hair spray.. =).. you can get all that for liek...deffinatly under 15$.. maybe even 10

Tips for growing out hair?

My hair right know is shoulder length. It isnt very long. I want to grow it out really long, about 3 inches below my shoulder.

My hair is thick with a bit of wave. I know its bad but i straighten my hair 4-5 times per week in the morning.

What can i do to make sure my hair will grow out healthy and is there anything i can do to make it grow faster?

thanks! =]]

Tips for growing out hair?

First thing, don't straighten it. It might be hard since your hair isn't naturally straight, but seriously- doing that damages your hair like nobody's business. And when your hair is damaged, it dries out and breaks-thus taking more time to grow long.

Since your hair is wavy, expect it to take longer to grow- rather than growing straight down it'll grow round and round. :)

As far as growing it out...be PATIENT. Get it trimmed every two to three months depending if you get split ends. Don't go crazy with the styling products or it'll get weighed down. And even better, if you take a couple days off a week and don't blow-dry it, you'll notice your hair is healthier. Aside from that, I use the Garnier Length and Strength shampoo...but I don't think it really makes a difference. Just wait.

Tips for growing out hair?

dont straighten it anymore...u'll get split ends and youll have to cut it :)

Tips for growing out hair?

Be sure to condition your hair often. If you have dandruff start useing a special shampoo (Like cebulex). The healthier your hair is the faster it will grow. Try useing the Garnier Frutis line...I love it ^^

Tips for growing out hair?

wash your hair with cold water it is proven it grows faster when you do that

Does diet effects hair texture?

for a good month...i went on a really healthy diet. i was eating lots of eggs and vegie's, my hair was REALLY soft and full and healthy that month. i went off the diet and lately , my hair isn't this same. it's flat and greasier and just doesn't seem as healthy. can diet really have THAT much effect on hair?

Does diet effects hair texture?

Diet affects everything. So yes it can also affect moods, weigh gain/loss, energy levels, skin/hair health, joints, bones, eyes, teeth..everything basically.

Does diet effects hair texture?

Diet effects everthing, as it is what our body uses to burn energy and to feed the cells. so if your diet is really healthy then it stands to reason that your body will be really healthy. I have found however that even if we eat the right foods and vegtables etc we do not get enough of what the body needs and wants, that is why I do a supplemental program with Herbalife shapeworks I have found not only did it help me lose weight and keep it off for over 2 years now but I am healthier and have more energy and more vitality now at 51 then I did when I was 30, so I believe that it is important that you supplement your regular diet with a nutrtrional program

here is the website for herbalife

I would suggest that you look at there shape works quickstart program

best wishes

Is the Shine Happy product by clairol any good? Will it damage my hair or make it healthier?

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

i bleached my hair 2 months ago .., and it VERY healthy again now after 2 months of good conditioners and special shampoos.,, i now want to go even lighter (almost platinum) is this safe? or will my hair break off..,, p.s. i havent retouched my roots yet.

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

If your taking good care of it like you say so with conditioners %26amp; special shampoos it is safe but you might end up with split ends so after you colour your hair see how much damage its caused your ends and decide if you need a trim or not!

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

Ohhh, I don't know. It may break.

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

it depends on if you are going to do it yourself, or go to a saloon. if u are doing it yourself, and your roots are showing, go for it. if you keep your hair healthy, then it shouldnt break or become a problem

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

it's risky.

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

No it is not safe. You should never put bleach over bleach. If you wanted to be platinum blonde you should've bleached it that light in the first place.

Start doing your roots lighter and then go from there. You will adventually have platinum hair.

閳?br>I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

I get my hair highlighted about every 2 months. My hairdresser says it is fine, but she just doesn't pull the bleach all the way through to the ends or else my hair would break off. So, she pretty much just does my roots. But if I were you, I would go in and talk to your hair dresser, especially if you are looking to go even lighter. You don't want your hair to break...that takes a long time to fix.

I bleach my hair 2 months ago, can i do it again ?

This is a difficult one to answer without seeing your hair, but I am guessing that you did it yourself at home. If so, please remember that you will need to lighten your newgrowth (root) area to the same lever of the rest of your hair before trying to make it all lighter. If your hair looks like a light yellow, all you need to do to make it appear lighter is apply an ash toner (blue based). Please remember that EVERY time you put bleach and 20 vol (or higher) developer on your hair, it inflates the hair to almost three times its normal size. when inflating the hair that much, it destroys the cuticle layer (outermost layer, the hairs protective layer) it also depletes all of the protein (what makes the hair healthy). Even if you condition it the way you should, there will be significant damage. Please try avoid using bleach and or permanent color over and over on hair that has been bleached before.

Treatment for hair before chemically straightning it?

ok i'm half white and half back, the front of my hair is curly/nappiesh and the back is straight, i chemically straighten all of my hair tho. i havent been taking care of it and i want to have a retouch for the summer...i want to know if there are any NATURAL/HOME MADE treatments that i can apply to my hair to get it healthy before i perm it...thank u!!!

Treatment for hair before chemically straightning it?

Olive oil, or if you can find it, castor oil. Warm them gently and massage them into your hair, paying attention to the scalp. If you can also, get a plastic shower cap and wear it over the hair, over night will help.

Treatment for hair before chemically straightning it?

u can use olive oil on ur hair put some and keep itin fr an hour than wash it off with water and soap NO SHAMPOO!! and do this every night fr 2 weeks or more depends on how damaged ur hair is

gd luck =)

Treatment for hair before chemically straightning it?

any chemical put on your hair causes it to dry out. before and during treatment, make sure your hair is throughly conditioned. we like Herbal Essences conditioner or Equate conditioner. =) If that's too expensive, mayonnaise ALWAYS works as conditioner.

Striaghtening hair?

i have been straigtening my hair for 3 years. I'm wondering that

will my hair fall out or will my hair go bad? how do i keep it healthy? PLEASE i need help! :) thanks

Striaghtening hair?

Your hair won't fall out but it is getting dried out. My friend used to straighten my hair all the time until I realized she had curly hair and to just deal with it. But, use a Paul Mitchell or other spray thats a heat protectant - spray on before straightening but not too much b/c it can get clumpy or appear greasy. Also try not to straighten ur hair - EVERY day. Skip a day of washing and wear in an upstyle. Use special conditioners like Aussie that you can apply for 3 minutes everyday to add moisture. Hope that helps!

Striaghtening hair?

YUP, ur gonna go bald

Striaghtening hair?

Well if you wanna continue striaghting your hair its not gonna be as healthy as it would if you didnt. but one way to keep it good is by having a small thin striaghtner the huge ones ruin your hair.

Striaghtening hair?

there's some spray that you can buy that's heat protecting for your hair. i'd buy that

Striaghtening hair?

if u straighten it too much edventally it will fall out because you are frying you hair my mom is a hair stylist so i would know it will get brittle and break of and your hair will start to then out and your hair will not look so full anymore so i would cool it on straighten it so much

Striaghtening hair?

use dove shampoo + condition there is a certain 1 so u have to read the label when u find it. its proven to keep ur hair healthy from weeks-months-years worth of damage from straighting.

so DOVE shampoo+conditioner. look in the super market + read dove labels to find the certain 1

hope this helps :)

Striaghtening hair?

it will be fine if you don't straighten it more than 1 time a week

Striaghtening hair?

well just be sure to use a good straightener. like, dont use those ones where you can use them if your hair is wet, it will fry it. and use some sort of serum to protect your hair. there are good ones from chi. also paul mitchell super skinny serum works. ive been straightening my hair for a while also with those products and no damage has been done.

Striaghtening hair?

All hair is different. My moms hair is all fried just from blow-drying it once a day for 5 years,

Striaghtening hair?

no your hair will not fall out

Striaghtening hair?

your hair wont fall out it just might fry or dry out. you should condition it every day before you straighten it and use a special conditioner and shampoo for heat.

Striaghtening hair?

A) don't dye it

B) don't perm it

C) use conditioner adn let it sit for little while before rinsing

This is what I do and my hair is really thick, long, , and silky. Going bye these guidelines will make your color look richer too.

Striaghtening hair?

If you use a mositurizing conditioner and shampoo you'll be fine. I've dyed my hair for 5 years plus and it's never fallen out, so if that doesn't kill it, straightening won't.

Consider getting it chemically straightened so you won't have to do it all the time. It's about 40-50 bucks and lasts for a long time.

Striaghtening hair?

No matter what straightening your hair will damage it. but it depends how much you do it and at what heat. Obviously the hotter and the more often you do it the worse it is. It wont necessarily fall out but by the time you are older your hair will be fried if its not already. Fortunately, you have a few options. you could get a cut in which you wouldnt need to straighten your hair or not that much. or you dont have to straighten it everyday and instead put gel in your hair and scrunch it. Lastly, it you just NEED to like me straighten your hair I would use John Frieda or Redkin serum which you can put in your hair while its wet to have added gloss and puts a protective coding over your hair. I LOVE it! good luck!

Striaghtening hair?

Before you iron your hear use some iron gard like Chi.

You can find this in some beauty stores try asking a hair stylest about it.

Striaghtening hair?

There is this stuff, from brands like catwalk, chi, bedhead, and ganier fruitis. Where you put it on before you straighten your hair, and it keeps it healthy and looking nice. And no you WON'T go bald.

Striaghtening hair?

just make sure your keep your hair trimmed every 4-8 weeks. and be sure to use conditioner. and its really important that u use a heat/flat iron protecting spray. try herbal essences flat iron spray, its in a pink bottle. but just do that and your hair will be fine and healthy

Striaghtening hair?

No it's not going to make your hair fall out or go bad.

Just keep it healthy by conditioning like you should, use a heat protective spray when you straighten or blow dry it, and you can even do a deep conditioning treatment every two weeks if you think your hair really needs it.

Redken makes a great line of products to keep hair in good shape and protected. here's the site.

Good luck = )

if your hair is thick and wavy. do not cut your hair short. cuz it'll fluff. do not tie it coz it'll get frizzy. like what just you said. use some shampoo that can help your hair longer :D like: mane and tail. it can make your hair longer and fast! and your hair will be shiny! but i don't know if that is available in your country. I'm from the Philippines btw. :)

when it's long enough... cut it LAYERED. so your hair is gonna be thinner. and its easier to maintain if your hair is.

and and use conditioner everyday! :D

My hair is so dull..?

Go to a beauty salon and ask them what they think would be best for you to do with you hair

My hair is so dull..?

get it thinned out at the hairdressers, blow dry it straight after you get out of the shower and put hairwax through it then straighten it or curl it if you want.

My hair is so dull..?

i have the same problem

My hair is so dull..?

shave it all off it won't be dull then

My hair is so dull..?

after washing your hair use a big paddle brush and low heat on a blow dryer to gently brush your hair downwards whilst slowly drying your hair.- or try going to a decent hair salon with a picture of what you would like your hair to look like. sometimes it takes a few treatments to radically change difficult hair but it can be done.

My hair is so dull..?

there are alot of smoothing and shine products out on the market right now, almost every line has one. also, if you are to get your hair colored ith a demi color (ask for it at your salon) it will add alot of shine and make your hair appear healthier!

My hair is so dull..?

Girl, I know what you mean. I have very thick, wavy hair and it's driven me nuts for decades. You will learn to appreciate it when your girlfriends with the fine hair start losing it in their 40's and 50's. That being said, I wear mine VERY short, almost like a man's haircut. It's cute and very easy to maintain.

My hair is so dull..?

seek a professional!

My hair is so dull..?

go to a salon and get it thined out a little bit and maybe some long layers and then make sure you have a good straightner that doesnt make hair frizzy when you use it then get a shampoo and conditioner for or makes hair straighter and smoother and then when your done straightning your hair, spritz a shine serum spray on it and NOT at the roots. after you sprayed some on brush through

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

prenatal vitamins

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

Hair length is actually a gene. Meaning its hereditary. Not everyone can grow their hair to the waist and very few can grow their hair to their knees.

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

Do you comb or brush it a lot? If so, that might be causing some breakage. Hair grows, but if there's a lot of overstyling, the breakage might make it seem as if it's not growing.

I also have very curly hair and don't comb it a lot and never brush it. Brushing it causes frizz.

I used to relax it, but it became damaged and would break from the chemicals and overstyling. Ever since I went natural, it grows like crazy.

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

take prenatals that definately should work.

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

i have the same problem, my birthday's in November and i would really like my hair to be past my shoulder's too. i heard that getting the right vitamins can help grow your hair. They say that getting enough sleep and trimming your hair regularly can also grow it.

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

same to me

OMG WTF My Hair Wont Grow!!?

hair grows very slowly about 闄?inch per month

Lavender oil has been shown to increase hair growth so massage the oil once a week and soak for 30 minutes before washing. Try http://solutionsforhairgrowth.blogspot.c... for more details.

Is it healthy for me to pluck ear hairs?

I'm an older male and hair grows on the outside of my ears. I don't like it. I shave it but that's a pain. Is it ok for me to pluck it?

TIA

Is it healthy for me to pluck ear hairs?

No definitely not. The hairs are there for a reason and helps filter out foreigh objects., Plus shaving or plucking them could cause an irritation and create an infection. Use small scissors and trim them being careful not to let them go back into the ear. They could get embedded and cause infection.

Is it healthy for me to pluck ear hairs?

If you are bothered by the hair, it is perfectly fine to pluck them. It certainly won't cause any health hazard. It'll hurt more than shaving, I'm sure.

Is it healthy for me to pluck ear hairs?

Sure, not problem

Is it healthy for me to pluck ear hairs?

it's okay to pluck, but your hair will grow thicker .

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

i want my to grow for the summer

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

Try Avocado.

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

avacado

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

theres no miracle for growing hair. the only thing that works is prenatal vitamins. and thats a little drastic. i would just keep getting regular trims (this aids in growing hair, if your ends are split it wont grow)

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

Not exactly a fruit, but a plant like Aloe Vera could make your hair grow faster.

What kind of fruit make your hair grow faster and healthier?

I'm not sure, but I would have to say melons. A few years ago I cut my hair to my shoulders, but I ate alot of watermelon, and my hair grew down to my waist within a year.

How to manage curly hair?

Hallo.

I have naturally curly, wavy hair.

When I first wash it, my hair is curly, silky, and very healthy-looking. However, the next morning, my hair is flattened, frizzy-looking, and messy. When I try to brush it, my hair looks even worse.

I've stopped using products like spray, mousse, and gel, because they have damaged my hair. I only wash my hair once or twice a week.

I once used a deep conditioner, but that only restored my hair for a week.

Can anyone recommend any ways for me to manage my naturally curly hair, without using products?

Is there a way I can restore it with a deep conditioner that has long-lasting results?

Thanks in advance.

How to manage curly hair?

have a deep conditioning treatment. its lasts a month for me but only because i use moderate products. it does make your hair feel refreshed though. my hair is the same way. i wish it always looks the way it does straight out the shower. alternative: eat alot of wild salmon.

you're welcome

How to manage curly hair?

i can tell you how i do it

first i wash my hair once a week with sunsilk anti poof shampoo and conditioner.

while the conditioner is in- i comb it through. start at the bottom and work your way up. this will eliminate or at least greatly reduce breakage.

i towel dry my hair and then i apply john frieda's anti frizz hair serum. i only put about a dime size of it.

i comb the serum through with my fingers.

i go to the salon once a month too get my deep conditioner done. it lasts a lot longer that way. i make a day of it. i do my hair. i get my waxing done. i do my nails and toes.

i get it all done in one day so i don't have to worry about it for another month.

How to manage curly hair?

Wash your hair in the morning, not at night. That gives you at least one day of good hair. Use a conditioner for dry hair, or for curly hair. I wash my hair every second day: it isn't dirty yet, but after that it starts looking very raggedy in the morning. If I put a little gel or mousse in on the third day, it looks much better (I dilute it with water, so it's too little to damage my hair or look unnatural).

Don't brush your hair when it is dry. Comb it while wet, and then leave it to dry naturally. The next morning, comb it very lightly and mostly just at the top of your head, trying not to break up the curls. If you must brush it, wet your hands afterwards and run them through your hair. This will re-form the curls.

Better color without damaging hair?

I have naturally black hair, and recently dyed my hair twice, trying to get an auburn-ish color. The color still isn't as noticable as I'd like. I used Revlon Colorsilk, and my hair is still pretty healthy. Is it safe to dye it again without completely frying my hair or making it fall out, or is there a healthier alternative, or should I just wait awhile?

Better color without damaging hair?

you can try a color rinse....preferably red...it will give your hair a nice harmonious reddish hue that will give you color without damaging your hair.....

Better color without damaging hair?

any time you use a color lifting dye, you cause damage to your hair. i would suggest waiting a while before dying it again. you can try using wella, which is sold at sally's. it is not AS damaging as most brands out there.

Better color without damaging hair?

First, in order to change it from black, you need to take the color out before turning it auburn. You would need to go blonde (I know it sounds awful), and then use the auburn.

Better color without damaging hair?

First you should definately deeply hydrate your hair!! not hot oil as that will get stripped immediately when/if you dye it again, with dark hair you want to go 2-3 shades lighter then the desired shade and if you want a more dramatic effect go 3-5 shades lighter, also use a dye for dark hair revlon makes one and so does feria- your best bet is go to a beauty supply store (surf internet for a local one, i do recomend sallys beauty supply) and ask them for more specific help on what you need to to the dye job, but thats what I do when i decide to change my color YET again :) (dont forget to hydrate!!)

Better color without damaging hair?

ok here is whats going on, you have natural black hair right? well most colors are not strong enough to lift that black out, that's why they make a color line called mega browns, and the hi-colors. they are specially designed to lighten super dark hair. the ones at walmart are not.

now... you have added color to your hair, and now that you have done that, you will have to use a bleach or a color remover to lighten it =(

color, no matter how light it is, will not lighten another (box) color. so what i suggest you do now, is get some highlights, in the shade you want, if you cant go to a salon, or don't want to, get a kit, it has all the directions in the box.

be carefull of going yellow though, both black hair, and colored hair tends to do that. so you have a double whammy!

I would strongly suggest a salon, for the highlights.... but its totally your choice!!

good luck!

Better color without damaging hair?

I am assuming it has reddish flecks in it naturally, so I would try some Sun-In to lighten it. Sun-In is inexpensive and easy, about 8 dollars. You just spritz and go in the sun or blow dry it. If you have black hair it can turn reddish or may turn blonde. It looks really cute, natural, and sunkissed. Do it in strips though, don't just randomly spray

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

Okay, so I wash my hair everyday, and I know it's not good for it.

But if I don't then my hair gets TOO greasy, and looks gross.

But, I feel a difference in my hair from when I showered every other day, to now. It feels drier, and brittle.

So is there a way I can shower everyday, and still keep natural oils in my hair to keep it healthy?

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

You need to get shampoo for normal to oily hair.....then you won't have to wash it every day......and if you use conditoners don't use it all over just in the ends of your hair and risne in a cooler temp of water helps to.

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

Don't use any shampoo/conditioner that will dry your hair out. For example, shampoo/conditioner that is made for colored/dry/ damaged hair. It is best to use something that is made for oily hair, a clarifying shampoo. This makes sure that not all your natural oils are stripped when you shower. I have noticed that when I use the dry/damaged hair shampoo/conditioners, my hair tends to get more oily. I think that your scalp makes up for all the dryness and your oil glands work overtime. OH...and don't use any 2-in-1s. That's a big no-no.

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

welll on the days u dont wash run baby powder through your hair becuase it absorbs all of the oils and adds volume!!

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

You can shower everyday : ) just DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY... I have an example for you... Ok.. wash your hair sunday and where it down (use very little product) Monday do not wash hair or wet it when you shower,.. put baby powder in your hair... only near the roots to freshen it and remove excess oil, and then wear it down but put a headband in. Next on Wednesday do not wash it, use the baby powder and wear it in a pony tail. Thursday wash it follow the above for the rest of the week. If you follow this example you will see dramatic results in less then a month!

Natural oils in hair and showering everyday...?

The baby powder thing works just don't do it if you have dark hair because then it makes you look like you have dandruff.

Hair growth stimulant?

I used to have dreadlocks and just took them out. My hair is dry, weak, damaged and has broken a lot when I was brushing them out. I am hoping to grow my hair out longer but I also want to revive it. I know patience is key when growing hair, but what can speed it up even just a bit?

What vitamins, herbal remedies, shampoos, ect. have you experienced good results with for making hair growth quicker and become healthier?

Help, My Hair Won't Stop Breaking Off And Falling Out!?

I wore micro-braids for four years.I would go to the shop every three months and get them in.My hair grew tremendously like this and I took them out and left them out for good in June. I permed my hair and wore it out curled since then and now it has fell out. I feel like all the growing of my hair was for nothing because I don't know how to keep it out without it falling out. I really don't want to get braids again I would like to be able to wear my new long hair out but my hair is breaking off and falling out so bad I am starting to think that I have no choice but to get the braids again. Can anyone help me? what are some good products and what can I do to salvage the hair I have left and get it back nice and healthy? Any one help please I am in total hair distress!!!!!!!!!!

Help, My Hair Won't Stop Breaking Off And Falling Out!?

First, get a good protein supplement (shake?) for you to eat or drink. Get it at a health food store to insure quality. Then you HAVE to go to a salon and have some deep conditioning treatments. Redken used to make a product called PPT that did very well in bringing hair back to life. I can tell you this. Hair is not made of oil and an OTC oily conditioner is going to do nothing. You have to do this the right way or you'll be very sorry.

Help, My Hair Won't Stop Breaking Off And Falling Out!?

you need to get it cut

Help, My Hair Won't Stop Breaking Off And Falling Out!?

That is a major problem when you wear micro-braids. This is very hard on your own hair. Didn't they tell you that before they put the micro-braids that you could end losing your own hair? And you wore that for four years, wow. I know you don't want to hear this but maybe it would be best for you to cut your hair short then leave it grow. And no perms while your having problems with your hair. All you need to do is get a few treatments for damaged hair. If you can't afford to go to the hairdresser then go to any drug store, they can help you there. Good luck.

Help, My Hair Won't Stop Breaking Off And Falling Out!?

hello..I think you need to good eating and cut your hair every month...

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

okay right now my hair is darkish lightish brown and blondish/light beown highlights and I LOVE MY NORMAL COLOR HAIR! Well my hair is thin and itwhen i brush it it just messes up when im at school and dont tell me to bring a brush! I need a great shampoo.

I just bought Herbal essences hello hydration but i need a better one. I need to be able to be comforatble with my hair instead of hiding it.... and some people in my class call me horse hair i am pretty just i dont feel comfortable with my hair at all... what shampoo should i use? please help!!!!

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

Your hair also may be incompatable with "Cones" They are ingredients that build up on the hair and block any thing from getting into the hair shaft. You need to claify to get rid of them. Alot of people have said that cones make their hair matted and they have bad luck with them. A cone is anything listed as an ingredient ending with cone. Dimencone (SP?) is the major one in most products.

You need a great conditioner. Suave, VO5, Redken, Dove ect have good ones. You also need to do heat treatments. You put conditioner on your lenght and then put a shower cap over your hair. Then hold a blowdryer on it or cover with a heating pad. Two great place to go to get great hair tips from people with expirience are:

Seriously. Make a post about your hair problems and they can suggest the best shampoos and conditoners for you hair.

My hair has gotten silkier, healthier, and IMO prettier.

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

I recommend the "Sunsilk Deeply Brunette Shampoo."

Works great - reduces frizz and enriches the brown color of you hair.

Hope it works out for you!

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

try frizz ease it helps take the bushyness out and paul mitchel shampoo and conditioing treatment works well for pretty, healthy hair

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

a way to make it healthier is to put conditioner on dry hair ten minutes before you shower then shampoo and condition as normal.

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

You may want to splurge and spend the extra couple bucks and buy a really good deep conditioning treatment from a salon. I use Alterna Enzymetherapy shampoo, conditioner, straightening balm and split ends reconstructer. They all work great. If not at least get pantene deep conditioning treatment. It'll help. Always make sure to switch up your shampoo and conditioner. Using the same one day after day causes residue buildup. Changing it to 2 a week back and forth eliminates the problem.

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

i have long, straight sort of thinnish/fine hair and my hair would look flat and mangy after awhile if i didnt brush it every ****** 15 minutse! recently what i've been doing is i started using that garnier length and strength shampoo+conditioner and i'll just put my hair up in a sort of messy bun when i get out of the shower. if i leave it in for awhile, when i take it out, it looks all wavy, thicker, and smells bomb!!! that is the most of important part. it also is really soft too. i suggest doing what i do!

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

I like your name.....Breanna is a nice name (i know this has nothing to do with your question but just had to tell you)

Hair help! I want it to look healthier!?

Okay, well first of all don't let any one call you 'horse hair'.

You should really try doing this:

1%26gt; Wet your hair and massage the wetness through scalp.

2%26gt; Apply PANTENE PRO V. (I do believe it has a product for specifacally brunettes) shampoo to your hair, and let it rest for a minute. Lather it up.

3%26gt; Wash it out for about 30 seconds 'til it's all gone.

4%26gt; Repeat step 2 and 3 once more.

5%26gt; Now that you have shampoo'ed twice, it;s time for PANTENE PRO V. conditioner!!

6%26gt; Squeeze some conditioner into ur palm, and apply to the middle of ur head (or the top would be best...) and then lather it up. LET IT STAY FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE, and then wash it out.

That's what I do. My hair comes out great! =]
