How can I convince my mom to let me dye my hair?

My mom won't let me dye my hair. I am 17 and I think I am old enough to be allowed to dye my hair if I want. When I ask her why she won't let me, she says that it will damage my hair. But when I tell her that my friends all dyed their hair and all of their hair is still so healthy she then changes her answer and says that I am too young to dye my hair. If I keep going at it she will eventually yell at me and say, "NO you cant dye your hair. thats it." and the argument basically ends there. Once I asked her if I could dye my hair with those temporary dyes, the ones that last for a few months, she said yes at first, but 2 minutes later she changed her mind and said no you cant. I'm not allowed to do anything to my hair, i cannot use straightening or curling irons or anything. I really feel like she is stopping me from having the hair that I want. What is something I can say to make her say yes you can dye your hair.

Do your research! Find a professional hair colorist in your area and pay them a visit- with your mother. Have him or her explain the haircolor process to your mom, and how, if done correctly, safe it can be. If your mother warms up to the idea, have that hair colorist color your hair.

In my opinion, your first color should always be done by a professional, someone who's had years of experience with haircolor.

when i was 10 i first got high lights, then it turned into my whole head being platinum then i went through every single color int he book, not joking. my mom let me, but thats because her mom never let her do anything so, now she feels bad. but now i tell my mom why did you let me do that? because its seriously addicting, my hair i'sent that damaged because i put a lot of conditioner and oils, but its still hard work to do all those things to keep it healthy. i say wait till your 18 so you can do whatever you want, and i suggest to not try to dye your hair too much because it becomes a habit. your mom is just looking out for you.

here are some ideas u can deep condition your hair after, the temporary dyes with wash out soon so it wont matter and it isnt that damaging to ur hair as long as u use conditioner im 13 so it might not be the best suggestions but they are suggestions =) hope i helped

wow thats rough. im allowed to dye my hair %26amp;%26amp; im 13. uhm at first my mom wouldt let me either but i showed her a couple pictures of the color i wanted. and i payed for the dye.

my mom thought it would ruin my hair too but we went to her hairstylist and she sed it probably wouldnt do any permanent damage if i took care of it.

umm,,,this is a problem...im sure that dying hair will really damage ur hair,,i know that its great but there r a lot of disadvantages....but if u really want ,,try to convince her again and again ,,,but dont fight with ur mother just bcoz of dying hair,,,maybe she thinks u have to grow up a little
