I dyed my hair black, can I get this color?

About a 5 or 6 weeks ago I dyed my hair black with a semi permanent dye. It's faded a bit, it's not blue-black, you can see brown in the sunlight.

Anyway, I would love this style:

(Dark brown with blonde highlights)

In approximately 1 month (10 weeks after black dye) would this be okay? Or would my hair be fried to death? And yes I would be going to a salon to have this done.

(Note: I have dyed my hair MANY times before - but it is healthy.)

yes, you CAN get this colour. it just may take 2 trips to the salon. what they should do is do a bleach cap to lift your hair about 2 levels. or they can do lots and lots of highlights, and tone them to a nice medium brown. your hair will feel drier than before because you will have to use a lifting product..this is why i definatly suggest going to a professional stylist.

yeah you will be fine dying it again i just suggest a deep conditioner the bleach will fry it

It will be a little hard to get the black out now that youve dyed it. But slowly you can start to trip away the black to brown. Just do it slowly so your hair doesnt get damaged.

If you have any doubts just go to a salon and get it done professionally.

I don't think your hair would be fried if you condition your hair..i have tried somthin like this before so dependin on how fast ur dye is fadin it might not be the same color by time u get the highlights..but ur hair should be fine :D hope i helped

Black is the worst color you can put in your hair. It is really hard to lift. BE honest with the stylist, they may not do it and you;ll have to respect their honesty. Kellys hair is pretty light in that pic.

You can totally get that look. Depending on your natural hair color, your hair stylist person will probably have to bleach the parts you want highlighted but since you used a semi-permanent dye, s/he'll have to dye it again using a permanent dye. It's not super healthy for your hair but there are a ton of conditioners and leave-in treatments your stylist could recommend to keep your hair healthy and shiny.

thats a pretty hairstyle, but you know that kelly has it professionally done everyday. you wouldnt be able to make your hair look just like that. and i dont know. go to your hairdresser to find out.

Yes, you can even dye it now. Really you just have to wait 2-3 weeks after you dye it the first time. But if you want to be on he super safe side i would wait 10 weeks like you said.

I have naturally dirty blonde hair and over about 2 years I dyed it darker and darker brown until I eventually dyed it black, obviously I got bored after about 3months and I bleached it twice, it went vibrant ginger and dry but I dyed it with various nourishing dyes to get it dirty blonde, it is now light blonde and though in bad condition it looks alright, this is the total extreme but it is possible just fork out the extra to have it done at the salon, it's worth it and FAR less hassle! good luck
