I've had very noticeable hair loss (male pattern baldness) since my early twenties. To women in the U.S. that seems like the plague but I am not about to spend $2000-5000 for a temporary "fix" like hair replacement for a cosmetic problem. It's not that I could not afford it ... it is a matter of principle.
I keep my hair quite short because otherwise it looks messy. Is there a lot of stigma attached with losing hair in terms of dating in the Philippines? Or is this mainly a U.S. attitude?
just for the record, all my male relatives are either very much alive and well or have lived very active and healthy, active lives well into their lates 90s ... although with a lot less hair .... so this is obviously not a "health" issue.
Is male pattern hair loss a big deal as far as dating goes?
It's only a big deal if you make it into one. Looks are much more important to men than they are to women.
Of course, you can always shave all your hair off. Being totally bald can be a hairstyle choice by itself, and then any hair loss is less noticeable.
Ultimately, you should make a decision that *you* feel the most comfortable with, and which leaves you feeling confident about yourself. If you have to change your hair to accomplish this, so be it. Let the results serve as your guide, rather than any notions of what you "should" be doing.

Yes your the plague of society in america. It's considered a disease. If you had herpies on your lips you would still be better off than going bald. If you had a bag to crap in attached to your rectum and it was out in the open you would still get more play than a balding guy. If your forehead was 4 feet tall, and wore glasses the size of bowling balls you would still get more play. LOL, you get the point. Even big girls pick on balding guys. Pay for the surgery and save yourself a lot of grief.
