Is it healthier to cover one's hair as they sleep of expose it?

It is healthier for you hair to cover it when you go to bed, ethnic or not. It stops the ends of your hair getting caught in the fibers in the pillow which causes split ends and breakage.What you should do is brush/comb your hair, then put it up with hairpins and cover it, if you have long hair. If you have short hair then you should brush/comb it still and then cover it.

its not a question of health per se...more an answer to trying to keep a style for more then a day. Sleeping on satin pillow cases is a good thing if you are an old lady that has her hair back combed and set, so that she could keep the style for a week. What is healthier is using a great conditioner...washing your hair every other day and doing a deep conditioning treatment every few months, especially if you do use chemical processes in your hair. A doo-rag is good to to help keep the natural oils in ethnic hair, thus leading to better looking more conditioned hair. If you are not ethnic...don't bother...its a waste of time.
