What can I use to stop my scalp itching but my hair shine?

I have terribly itchy scalp, some shampoos make it sore, some make it flaky.

I have tried so many different things

Coal tar shampoo

Tgel

Antidandruff ie head and shoulders

baby shampoo

most commonly available anti itch shampoos

shampoo for psoriasis

etc

The only thing that works at the moment is a shampoo called Klorane with peony, it seems to work intermittently but my hair is pretty dull.

My scalp is healthy at the moment but I really need to condition my hair it is so dry with the sun and chlorine after my holiday but ALL conditioners so far have left me with scales on my head that flake and become very sore, or an itchy rash develops.

In the past I have suffered from Psorasis of the scalp which made my scalp itchy and flaky and my hair fall out. The problem with the treatments for a dry scalp are they may make the scalp slightly better but really make your hair look dull, lifeless and brittle.

I have tried many many different shampoos, conditioners, hair tonics which have only made the condition of my hair worse. Eventually I found that a cure......I know it sounds weird but give it a try........

Put porrage oats into a clean pair of tights and run bath water through them. The bath water will turn creamy looking. Then put your head in the bathwater and massage the water and the cream produced from the oats into your scalp. This will help relieve itchiness without damaging your hair further.

I also visited a chinese herbalist who made up some tea to drink (which tasted disgusting - but miraculously worked) and had accupuncture. This helped with the dry scalp more naturally and did not effect the condition of my hair.

It took some time after that to get my hair back into condition. But after vistits to an understanding hairdresser (one hairdressers was quite nasty because I had foresaken the condition on my hair for a recovery for psoraisis) and the use of intensive conditioners (which I would sleep in and rinse out the following morning) my hair turned back to normal.

I know it can be frustrating that the cure for one aiglment only makes another part of you worse. Give what I have suggesed a try.....I know that what works for person may not work for another but you sound similar to me......you have tried so many different thinks and nothing has worked so try an alternative therepy.

i had this problem a longggg time ago. turns out eventually the scratching turned out to be headlice.

u might wanna get some lice treatment and use it before u regret it.

i think you need to get to doctor who could prescribe a shampoo not available over the counter. remember you should rotate shampoos which is why some work and than they dont after constant use

I have the same problem and after using tgel I use Nexxus humectress leave in conditioner and make sure to put it to the scalp and hair. It has a lotion like consistency and works great moisturizing the hair and scalp. Its not greasy and leaves my hair looking nice and healthy with no dryness.

usually the scalp is itchy because its too dry it needs water wash it everyday if possible if doesn't work use moisturisers on it hope it helps.

Try to do hair treatment, use avocado gel, creambath, in a hair dresser...after 1 week treatment, goes back to normal...

..I had same problem many years ago ...medicated shampoos etc didn't work....

Then one day I was out of shampoo so i used my baby's Johnson's no more teas baby shampoo...hey! PRESTO...

no more problems ever since ( and for extra shine.. try "Johnson's baby shampoo with camomile" it works wonders for me, can be used as often as you like, and wouldn't break the bank!.......
