Lightening my hair...???

my parents will not allow me to go dye or bleach my hair from a pro b/c im too young and i dont really need it (even though i plan to do it in the future)...but im not looking for pro results either...i just want my hair to turn a bit lighter, i want to have hints of brown in it...it's generally black..i have fair skin...lemon juice won't do it because i heard it turns your hair orange! (even though i think the color won't look too bad on me...depending on HOW orange it turns!!) i just need some natural solutions...like healthy ones that won't turn your hair dry and orange like lemon juice! thanks so much!

Lightening my hair...???

There is no way to lighten your hair without damaging it just a little bit. If its warm and sunny where you live you can try putting chamomile tea on your hair and head out to the beach or something but if where you live is cold and wintery now (like where i live) use Sun-In (twice a month or less!) or something (thats hwat i use) My hair is dark brown but not black and i lightened it a couple shades last winter and my hair is chesnutty where i highlighted it (im starting to lighten it again). But sun-in does damage your hair (combined with flat- ironing - likei do is alotta damage) so try using a leave in conditioner / moisturizing hot oil treatments or something like that (anything to get moisture back into your hair- i reccommend neutrogena deep conditiong mask)- and getting trims every 3 months also gets rid of split ends, so your hair wont look too dry and brittle. Or instead of lightening use a color mousse such as (loreal color pulse) which contains no ammonia and it isnt permanent- so you can dye your hair to a lighter shade of your hair color and if you dont like it wash it out and if you do then dye it the same color 2-3 months after the first application.

(remember this is to lighten your dark brown hair to a shade that is auburn/chesnutty not to blonde and dont overdo on the lightening or else it might become orangey and/or damaged)

Lightening my hair...???

my sister used to use lemon juice then sit in the sun. it's the only one i know that is totally natural...

Lightening my hair...???

Hiya, the only way to get dark hair to lighten properly is to use strong chemicals dyes that contain bleach. Its the only way to do it im afraid!

These are best done at a salon as when used incorrectly can turn the hair very orange etc. It is also very drying to lighten dark hair so has to be done with care.

I doubt if lemon juice would do anything at all to your hair. Other than make it dry. Lemon juice tends to just work on blonde hair to very very very slightly lighten.

A good solution for you would maybe be to get some clip in hair extension streaks or the glue in ones you can get applied. Just a few to add a few streaks of the colour you want.
