Why do ends split when hair is treated well??

I have always used a good conditioner - usually a deep moisture mask type every time, only wash it every 3 days, then put hair vitamins into my ends, never blow dry anywhere near my ends, don't do chemical things to my hair, so WHY do the ends still split??? I have naturally coarse, wavy red hair that is halfway down my back but I try to do everything possible to keep it healthy. Are some types of hair just designed to split no matter what???

There is no way to 100% avoid them just by brushing you hair or tieing it back causes split ends. DON"T BRUSH IT WHEN IT IS WET!!!

i dont know really but i think ur hair is damaged. maybe should cut ur hair but dont make ur hair too short, if its ok with u.

AHHH! I have the same problem!

I think it's just that those ends are so dead and old they are going to split no matter what.

Also, I've been told the weather can really affect it. I live in the midwest, so in the winter, when the air is dry, my split ends are so evident!

But as the weather heats up, and its so humid, they arent AS bad.

Either way, you can KIND OF hide them by deep conditioning but the only real way to get rid is cutting :-(
